How to Calculate Pivot Points

Pivot point aur is k support aur resistance levels ki calculation akhari trading session k open, high, low, aur close ka istemal karke lagaya jata hai. Pivot point ki calculation kuch is tarah se ki jati hai;

Pivot point (PP) = (High + Low + Close) / 3

Support aur resistance ko is culye k madad se kuch is tarah se malom ki jati hai;

1st level k support aur resistance :

First resistance (R1) = (2 x PP) - Low
First support (S1) = (2 x PP) - High

2nd level k support aur resistance:

Second resistance (R2) = PP + (High - Low)
Second support (S2) = PP - (High - Low)

3rd level k support aur resistance:

Third resistance (R3) = High + 2(PP - Low)
Third support (S3) = Low - 2(High - PP)

Note: kuch charting software intermediate ya mid-point levels bhi lagate hen, lekin ye levels same pivot point nahi hote, bulke asal pivot point aur support/resistance k darmeyan chote (small) levels hote hen.

Pivot point ka kaam ziada tar charting software khud se karte hen, is k leye traders ko calculation ki zarorat nahi hoti (jis tarah se fabonacci levels hote hen). Albata pivot point ki setting khud se karni hoti hai, q k har trader apne mutabiq is point ko istemal karta hai.

How to Calculate Pivot Points

The pivot point indicator can be added to a chart, and the levels will automatically be calculated and shown. Here's how to calculate them yourself, keeping in mind that pivot points are predominantly used by day treader and are based on the high, low, and close from the prior trading day.


If it is Wednesday morning, use the high, low, and close from Tuesday to create the pivot point levels for the Wednesday trading day.

• After the market closes, or before it opens the next day, find the day's high and low, as well as the close from the most recent previous trading day.
• Sum the high, low, and close and then divide by three.
• Mark this price on the chart as P.
• Once P is known, calculate S1, S2, R1, and R2. The high and low in these calculations are from the prior trading day.

What Do Pivot Points Tell You?
